Steve Jobs stops by Paris Opera store

I have my doubts about what's going on here, but I'll let you judge the veracity of this one for yourself. The above video is supposedly a short clip of none other than Steve Jobs walking through the newly opened Paris Opera Apple Store during this past weekend on July 3rd. A commenter on 9to5Mac says that the guy in black walking in front of Steve is Steve Cano, the senior director of Apple International Retail, so supposedly Steve and entourage were there to check out the new store and see how things were going.

Of course, not everything you read and see about Steve is true -- while it certainly makes sense that he'd be there (and that he's probably also dropping by the new store in Shanghai), there's no verification on this one, so we don't know for sure if this is him or just a well-dressed French impostor. But either way, enjoy the fleeting glance of what seems to be the man himself out in public.

Oh, and Steve? You were too busy to spend the July 4th weekend at home, cooking on the grill and watching fireworks with the rest of us? Sure, it was probably just a bit of bad timing, but next time the Independence Day holiday rolls around, take a break and enjoy it a little, won't you?

I'm so happy I'm not Steve Jobs. Anonymity is a very peaceful and wonderful thing when shopping for computers or for underwear. LOL

"Hey, LOOK!.... Steve Jobs wears....."

...what? I don't understand this article. Why WOULDN'T it be him? Why are you acting like it's some kind of crazy, improbable phenomenon for Steve to show up at one of his stores? It happens all the time. That's definitely Steve, and there's nothing weird or crazy about that. I really can't for the life of me understand the tone of this article.

No, the last paragraph there is yet another example of the awful writing here at TUAW.

Agreed. There is no place for facetiousness in news, and TUAW is becoming more pathetic every day.

Good points, guys. You should definitely both start a better blog with better writing. Work just as hard as the TUAW writers do and create something better, and I'm sure we'll all flock to it.

Create something yourself, or stop trying to tear down those who do. Otherwise, it just makes you look small.

Is it me or is Steve sporting a mustache?

Lance Armstrong spent July 4th in France too. Should he also have been at home in Texas cooking on the grill and watching fireworks instead of riding the TdF? Awesome logic you have there.

that's definitely him; i've seen him before when visiting the Apple campus "mothership". you'd have to be an amazingly talented impostor to not only pull off how Jobs looks but imitate exactly how he moves.

Steve France? Maybe.

What better way is there to celebrate American independence than by trotting the globe asserting our dominance in all things awesome? Steve Jobs - emissary of American greatness!

Dude, Steve Jobs probably took a plane home that evening--- and also, he can fly anytime... even if he flew home the next morning--- with the time difference, he would still make it back in time for the 4th of July.

What the hell are you all complaining about? Steve being anti-american and such? I mean common, he is one of the main reasons the American economy is doing well... Apple is one of America's biggest exports (if not, the biggest). So, chill people... Steve Jobs loves america--- otherwise, he wouldn't be making such amazing products for you all.
