Apple Store down Thursday evening (Updated)

Ah yes, our old friend -- the Post-it of Unavailability. The Apple Store is down in the US, UK, Australia and presumably elsewhere as well.

Could be maintenance, could be something else (although it seems awfully early for the rumored Mac Pro refresh). We'll know in a few hours, give or take.

Update: The store is back up with no major changes; however commenters note that the previous days-to-ship product information is now replaced with simply "In Stock" except in the case of the Mac Pro. That may be aimed at avoiding further commotion when simple ship time fluctuations occur.

They changed the iphone4 shipping from 1-3 days to in stock. Probably because iphone4 inventory is low and iPhone 5 announcement is around the corner

Now that i know Apple is ending the back to school promo, they'll be introducing the next iPhone/iPod touch with iOS 5 the week of 9/19 or 9/26. If history should follow, Apple always does the fall keynote shortly after the back to school promotion.

Is it just me, or are the "estimated shipping dates" gone from all of the products? It only says "In Stock," except for the 12-Core Mac Pro.

I don't know what this has to do with the Apple Store, but I received a call telling me that icloud will go live today.

(The iWork part of iCloud beta is down also ...)
