Apple is set to open Apple Umeda, its second retail store in Osaka, on Saturday, July 26, 2025. This launch comes more than 20 years after the tech giant introduced its first store in the city, Apple Shinsaibashi. The new location is part of Apple’s broader plan to open or remodel around 50 stores worldwide by 2027.

Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Retail and People, expressed excitement about the opening. “Apple Umeda reflects the vibrant energy of Osaka,” she said. “We look forward to connecting with local communities and businesses in the Kansai region.”

Location and Design Highlights

Apple Umeda is located on the second floor of the Grand Front Osaka complex’s South Building, a major hub for culture and commerce near Osaka Station and Umeda Station. This new site is about 2.4 miles north of Apple Shinsaibashi and sits across the Dojima River.

Unlike the street-level entry of Apple Shinsaibashi, Apple Umeda offers a sleek, elevated design that complements the city’s modern architecture. While specific design details remain under wraps, Apple revealed official images showcasing the store’s elegant and minimalistic aesthetic.

Strengthening Customer Connections

Apple aims to make the new store a space for creativity and community engagement. The company plans to host sessions that allow customers to explore Apple products and services while collaborating with local creative communities.

The launch underscores Apple’s commitment to expanding its retail presence and delivering premium in-store experiences for customers worldwide.
