Apple has expanded the custom email feature in iCloud+, allowing users to create more personalized addresses from domains they own. The service now supports up to 10 custom email addresses per user for each domain, up from three.
The change gives subscribers considerably more flexibility. In particular, small businesses and families can create separate addresses without quickly reaching Apple’s previous limit.

Apple Expands iCloud+ Email Options
Apple quietly updated a support page on September 30 to reflect the new allowance. Users can still connect as many as five custom domains to iCloud+. However, each user can now create up to 10 personalized email addresses for every domain.
Previously, Apple allowed the same five-domain maximum but restricted users to three addresses per domain. Therefore, the latest change more than triples the number of addresses available within each domain.
Custom domains let subscribers use their own domain names with iCloud Mail. As a result, users do not need to rely solely on traditional iCloud.com or older mac.com addresses.
Limit Applies Separately to Each User
Importantly, Apple applies the new limit per user rather than across an entire shared account. Each person who shares a domain can create up to 10 personalized addresses using that domain.
That approach makes the feature more practical for households. For example, different family members can maintain separate addresses for personal activities without using another person’s allocation.
Moreover, the change could prove even more useful for business customers. A small company can use different addresses for sales, support, billing or other functions while staying within one custom domain.
Small Businesses Gain More Flexibility
The previous three-address ceiling could feel restrictive for businesses with several staff members or departments. By contrast, 10 addresses provide more room to organize communications while maintaining a professional domain identity.
Apple has not changed the maximum of five custom domains, according to the report. Instead, it has focused on making each connected domain more useful.
