Apple has rolled out its third developer beta cycle for iOS 27.2 and several other operating systems. The latest releases cover iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, visionOS, tvOS and HomePod Software.
The new round continues Apple’s testing of its first post-milestone software updates. However, the company has taken an unusual path by moving non-foldable iPhones directly toward iOS 27.2. The source says iOS 27.1 focuses on elements designed for the iPhone Duo.

Apple Updates Beta Builds Across Its Platforms
Apple has assigned build 24B5099f to both iOS 27.2 beta 3 and iPadOS 27.2 beta 3. Meanwhile, macOS 27.2 beta 3 carries build 26B5101f.
The company also released new builds for tvOS 27.2, watchOS 27.2 and visionOS 27.2. HomePod Software 27.2 joined the same testing cycle.
Apple launched the first beta round on September 16. It followed with beta 2 on September 21, before introducing this third set of builds.
iOS 27.2 Testing Brings Several Changes
The initial iOS 27.2 beta introduced a redesigned Health app. Apple designed the update to work alongside the Apple Watch Ultra 4 and Apple Watch Series 12.
In addition, FaceTime gained dual capture support. Siri AI added localization for more languages, while Apple TV profiles also arrived on the iPhone.
Beta 2 also revealed signs of a new AutoLock security feature. The system could lock an iPhone after detecting that someone has snatched or stolen it. However, testers cannot access the feature yet. The software currently shows only background traces of the unfinished function.
Developers Should Use Caution
Beta software can still contain serious bugs, even after several testing rounds. Therefore, users should avoid installing developer builds on devices they depend on every day.
