Apple TV has announced The Choir, a new comedy-drama starring James Corden and Ruth Jones. The eight-episode series will bring the popular creative duo together for another television project.
The announcement marks their first collaboration since the finale of Gavin & Stacey. Moreover, both stars will help create the series while taking leading roles.

The story follows two estranged siblings whose lives reconnect through an unlikely community project. Apple plans to release the series worldwide in 2027.
The Choir Explores Family and Second Chances
Corden plays Ben, a man who returns to his English hometown after spending several years overseas.
However, his homecoming brings mixed emotions. Ben never enjoyed living in the town and has little desire to revisit his troubled family relationships.
Meanwhile, his estranged sister, Lisa, played by Jones, remains part of the life he left behind.
A struggling local choir unexpectedly brings the siblings together. As a result, music becomes an opportunity to rebuild their damaged relationship.
The series will combine comedy and drama while exploring family ties, personal struggles, and the possibility of reconciliation.
Star-Studded Cast Joins Apple TV Series
Alongside Corden and Jones, The Choir features an extensive supporting cast.
The ensemble includes David Harewood, Jason Watkins, Tom Davis, Susan Brown, and Sylvestra Le Touzel.
Additionally, Farrah Abbassy, Tom Edden, Jo Foster, Evie Jones, Gary Lamont, and Stephen Leask will appear.
Emily Lloyd-Saini, Alexandria Riley, Luiis Rouf, and Rosie Sheehy also join the production.
Furthermore, three prominent performers will make guest appearances. Jim Broadbent, James McAvoy, and Hannah Waddingham will contribute to the series.
Their involvement adds further interest to the upcoming comedy-drama.
The Choir Targets a Global 2027 Premiere
Production is currently underway, although Apple has not announced an exact release date.
The company has confirmed that the eight-part series will premiere globally on Apple TV during 2027.
Meanwhile, the project marks another collaboration between Corden and Apple. The entertainer previously hosted Carpool Karaoke for the company.
For fans of Corden and Jones, The Choir promises another opportunity to enjoy their creative partnership.
With its family-centered story and established cast, the series could become a notable addition to Apple TV’s 2027 lineup.
