CherryOS 1.0 released
The often talked about, but seldom seen,
CherryOS has finally seen the light of day. Just in case you
don’t know what CherryOS is, it is basically
Virtual PC only in
reverse.
Huh?
It is a G4 emulator that runs on PC with a clockspeed of at least 1.6Ghz (though Pentiums, Pentium Ms, Xeons, Athlons,
Opterons, and Durons are welcome). You do need a valid license for OS X and Windows XP (Pro or Home will do).
What will running OS X on your PC cost you, other than your immortal soul? $49.95, though there is a free trial
version.

janeiro: What kind of "legal trouble" are you saying that someone will get into if they buy a copy of CherryOS instead of using PearPC?
March 10 2005 at 5:20 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replywhy pay for this when you can get for free from the guy who actually wrote it? http://apple.slashdot.org/apple/05/03/09/0258220.shtml?tid=179&tid=3 CherryOS is ripped off from PearPC in violation of the GPL. use at your own risk. or, better yet, save yourself the $49 and some legal trouble!
March 09 2005 at 10:18 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyAs always thanks for the constructive criticism folks. It was late, and I was excited so I apologize for the grammatical errors. Though, if I never made these mistakes how would you have any fun? :)
March 09 2005 at 8:07 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI ment the Mac Mini is much more cost effective.
March 09 2005 at 5:59 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyYou better buy a Mac Mini instead. It's not much more cheaper and for sure is much faster - no emulation. A Mac Mini: $499 CherryOS: $49 + additional software costs (all the software that you need to buy have a real Mac system)
March 09 2005 at 5:57 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyYou may want to learn how to use apostrophes. Should be "Xeons, Athlons, Opterons, and Durons".
March 09 2005 at 5:35 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIsn't this that scam that ripped off pear pc?
March 09 2005 at 2:13 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyDownloading now... FYI the URL for a direct download (so you dont have to go through the registration) is http://movies.mxsinc.com/CherryOS_Software.zip
