Here's another widget that I'd dare categorize as "useful." The Google maps widget works much like the Google maps webpage, in that it provides a very clean way to view maps and satellite photos of locations in the US, UK and Canada. Navigate maps in the widget by zooming in and out or scrolling left or right. Pretty nice.To get an instant map to any address, just go to your Address Book and right click on the address field of any one of your contacts and select "Map Of." The address will then be revealed in Google Maps on Safari. You can do the same if a data detector determines there is an address in an e-mail in Mail.

I have trouble getting it to show an address, even giving it an exact address and zip code

YES, I just found out about this yesterday and I am soo happy. Google Maps is great, especially when I am looking for a specific address and I need to use the satellite view. Probably the only widget in my collection that gets the most attention.

Within the last hour or so (6:30p IN time), Google added detailed coverage of all of Indiana. I can see my house now!

I was a die-hard MapQuest user until someone introduced me to GoogleMaps. I switched right there and then. You cannot top how clean and uncluttered their maps look.
