"One More Thing" is just an open apology for ROKR
TUAW has just received confirmation that Apple’s much-anticipated, invite-only “One More Thing” event is simply going to be an official apology for the ROKR phone. Apple wants to let the affected markets know that they tried their best to help the ROKR become all it could be, but alas: they couldn’t salvage the otherwise promising product from the throes of Motorola’s engineers. So unfortunately we won’t be seeing an iPod video, or an iTVS, or a PowerBook with a kitchen sink port... but at least we’ll be getting a warm, comforting apology from everyone’s favorite guy in a black turtleneck.

An APOLOGY? From STEVE?!? N.F.W.!!! He's way too self-absorbed for that.
October 12 2005 at 1:15 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyA guy was sitting at home watching television, when he heard a knock at the door. He gets up, opens the door, and finds a six-foot tall cockroach in his doorway. The cockroach knocks him down and beats him senseless. When the man comes to, he calls 911 and gets an ambulance to take him to the hospital. Once he arrives at the hospital, he gets checked in and is examined by one of the ER docs. He tells the doctor: "You won't believe what happened to me...I...". The doctor interrupts him and says: "Yes, yes, I know...There's this nasty bug going around."

It is at most mildly amusing. So anyone who took it seriously could be forgiven for missing the fact it's not to be taken seriously. And David, just because you filed this under "Humor" doesn't make it funny. Sorry man, but someone had to say something.
