Bring some Expose to Firefox 1.5 with foXpose
Looks like Firefox 1.5 built in some cool new tools for extension writers, and the folks at Viamatic Softwares have a couple of great examples, the most notable of which is foXpose - Exposé for Firefox tabs. This extension enables a small button in the left side of the status bar which, when clicked, displays thumbnails of all the open tabs in the window. The extension is also supposed to enable the keyboard shortcut ctrl + shift + x to do the same thing, but it seems like that might only work on Windows (can anyone confirm?).[UPDATE: The keyboard shortcut works on OS X, it's just different. Use cmd + shift + X]
This extension allows Firefox to join the ranks of browsers that bring the really hand ideal of Exposé to the tabbed browsing experience, and when I say "ranks" I mean Shiira, as its the only other browser I know that can do this. Like I asked yesterday on the Backpack extension for Firefox: PimpMySafari.com - are you listening?

Although I like Firefox 1.5, does anyone how to disable the feature where two-finger scrolling takes you back a page? I followed the instructions on tuaw for Firefox 1.4 and got it to work wonderfully but, for some inexplicable reason, the same changes didn't work in 1.5

I closed Firefox and downloaded it again, and it didn't appear on the desktop. But I don't see button to click for the Expose. Nor does the command work. Help.

December 01 2005 at 1:20 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyJust to let you know, IE7 also includes this functionality.

I was unwilling to move to Firefox because of how much faster Safari ran, but it looks like Firefox is improving. I'm still surprised that Firefox does not have a Right-click -> Print function built in. I haven't found any extensions that will work with 1.5 to bring back that functionality.

December 01 2005 at 10:19 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI can't upgrade to 1.5 yet because so many extentions don't yet work.

December 01 2005 at 10:01 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThis extension royally sucks. i tried it and Tab-sidebar for FF1.5 is about a billion times more useful. as soon as i can exit my browser, it will be uninstalled for good. don't waste your time on this... get the tab-sidebar extension! http://users.blueprintit.co.uk/~dave/web/firefox/tabsidebar/index.html
