Apple/NBC promo available
A few eagle eyes readers (do you guys just watch Apple.com all the time? Not that we are complaining) sent in a link to the Apple/NBC promo that NBC is running featuring their new content on iTunes. This, in and of itself, isn't all that interesting given the fairly generic look to the promo, however, if you watch the whole thing through you learn that NBC will soon be adding more shows to the iTMS, including Saturday Night Live and some Bravo offerings.
I won't be happy until I can download the Gilmore Girls from the iTunes Music Store, but that's just me.
Thanks to everyone who sent this one in.

Horrible quality for an Apple ad.

Also, since when has Apple been part of "The best of both worlds" to the American peoeple? No offense to Mac fans, but ask 100 random people on the street what the best OS is and you'll be lucky to get three people that say Mac OS X, though you'll probably get a few people that say Dell or AOL. Also, it figured you had come to known and loved iTunes. What if you had never seen/heard of iTunes before? You'd probably be left with the impression that NBC now hosts some shows online and has a fruity logo for it's new service call iTunes. Also, though I know it's not a good business model to remind people of prices, they hardly mentioned the fact that you actually have to buy the shows.

Like they threw it together to capitalize on the publicity they are getting from the news of the deal. Even by NBC's standards, this looks like it was put together by an intern in their promos department. Apple certainly had nothing to do with the production of this one, and I'm surprised Apple are hosting it on their servers. I'm frankly amazed that Apple are allowing them to use Apple imagery (the iPod silhouettes, iMac & G5 images and the blue Apple logo) in the manner that they do. It probably breaks hundreds of their closely guarded branding rules. I'm pretty sure if Steve saw this he would blow a gasket. Just shows that even if Apple does 'share' their properties with other corporate entities what happens to the precious brand image.
