IE 7 adopts Firefox RSS logo
Internet Explorer 7 will offer support for subscribing to RSS feeds, much like Safari and Firefox. This has been
known for a long while, however, what icon Microsoft would choose to represent the fact that a page has a feed has been
up in the air. Wonder no more. Microsoft has decided to use the icon that Firefox uses which doesn't look anything like the icon that Safari uses. Makes me wonder if we will see Apple adopt the little orange icon which seems to be fast becoming a standard.

Looks too much like the Airport icon for my taste. The blue RSS is about as clear as can be.

yay microsoft wastes god knows how much time "agonizing" over this decision (they had multiple mockups for button ideas) only to finally co-opt firefox. yet when IE 7 is released we're still not going to get a browser that can pass the acid 2 test. losers... strike that... purposely crippling a product because you've got a new web production tool coming out.

If 2 of the biggest web broswers are using the (now) standard RSS feed icon, apple should do it and not act like it's too good for it like they did with the term ''control panel" which from memory was the standard term for computer settings, then when OSX came out they dropped it!

[RSS] icon is fine, I think Apple has a good thing there and should keep it.

Well if you wanted to use the Firefox icon in Safari I just made up a set of 4 images to put into Safari if anybody wants them:

put them into Safari.app > Contents > Resources
Seems to work fine for me although I'm really not quite sure what I'm doing.

I would love to see all browsers use the same icon as it will help build standards for RSS/Feeds. Plus Safari calls it RSS even if it's atom. Their not all RSS.

The problem with Safari adopting Firefox' RSS logo is it looks too much like an Airport logo. It's the same basic design, except the colors are reversed and the "waves" are rotated 45 degrees.

The [RSS] button could be mistaken for AS*. :/
