It's here! The MacBook is here!
If the title isn't clear enough: My MacBook Pro has arrived.I am currently in a euphoric world of speed and beauty, and if I were enjoying myself any more this little laptop would probably be dubbed an illegal narcotic by the Food and Drug Administration and I'd be thrown in jail for substance abuse.
Anyway -- I'm unpacking and settling myself in, and I plan to put this thing through its paces over the next few days. I intend to post a First Impressions, but instead of going with things that simply pop into my head, I want to know: What do you want to know about Apple's first Intel notebook?
Post anything you'd like me to test/examine/report on in the comments and I'll compile them all and post a quickie review as soon as I can.

Hello, I am a mac-curious person, thinking about switching sometime after Apple's response to vista comes out, anyway can you tell me the specs of your new lappy? And some subjective speed analysis.
A video of you using the thing would be great because it shows us how snappy it is or isn't!
Also from the touch of the start button to the desktop, how long does it take?

Great! I'm very curious about the battery life and power consumption compared to the Intel iMac and the PowerBook G4.

What's the performance of video like within iTunes? This is where my iMac G5 always chokes.

Please post to us:
* - Any experiances with gaming that you have on it
* - Speed of various apps (Try Garageband, ect.)
* - Try Firefox. I'm intrested to see if there is any increase in speed. Deer Park if you can't find a suitable build.
* - How long does a full battery charge take?
* - On max settings, how long is the battery lasting?
Finally:
* - What faults have you found, and have you managed to see anything that makes it lag badly.

802.11 range (possibly compared to a G4 PB), power saving settings for the new processor, temperature/noise, xbench score (assuming they have a universal binary), camera quality (with sample screen shots), handbrake performance, speaker sound quality, rigidity of the whole computer

Apple's response to Vista has been out for awhile now, it's called OS X Tiger. The better question is, "What will Microsoft's response to Leopard be?" :-)
Let us know what Temperature Monitor reports, how much lap can you singe with this bad boy?

Ok people we get it you want to know about the battery life. I second Stefan and would like to know how long it takes to boot up? Also when did you order yours? I'm trying to figure out if mine will ship before the Feb. 28 estimated shipping date. THanks.

Windows Vista is Microsoft's response to OS X.
OS X has had all of the "NEW" features of Windows Vista for quite a while now.

gaming under rosetta - specifically, how old/unintensive does a game have to be to run smoothly?
Also, performance with other rosetta apps.

10.4.5 seems to put an X over the icons for Intel only apps on my PPC. Is there any new icon graphic on the Intel to indicate whether an app is Intel/PPC/Universal without bringing up Get Info?
Also, give the Intel compiled SheepShaver a go and see if it's a worlable replacement for Classic.
