Endo

From the makers of ecto, the blog editor, comes endo, an RSS reader. endo (the application begins with a lowercase 'e') takes a different approach to RSS reading than typical readers. It lists your subscription groups on the top toolbar, allowing you to quickly jump from group to group. Color also plays a large part in this application, which is a little unfortunate for folks like me who are slightly, or totally, colorblind.

This Universal application has a 21 day trail, and the full version costs $17.95 but you can get a special combo of ecto and endo for $25.95.

Thanks, Dan.

What's with all these new RSS readers anyway...!?! Here's another candidate, released today:

http://www.coladia.com/postino/

At least it looks cleaner and simpler than endo...!? ;)

I'm not sure if anyone else noticed but this app is such a resource hog!!! It took 120MB right after launch... that's just too much compared to NetNewsWire which takes up 40 to 50MB (after being used for a few days).

Trashed it after 5 minutes... too confusing and takes up too much RAM.

The toolbar alone makes this app unusable. Everytime you click on something the toolbar totally rearranges itself, talk about confusing! Not only that, it makes it really difficult to "hardwire" the toolbar locations into your brain.

I 100% agree with Stridey. It's just not intuitive for me to use it as my standard RSS reader. It's NewsFire for me!

Yeah, this thing looks nice, but man, it's almost impossible to use. It won't even let you put your subscriptions into any order, it wants to arrange them and rearrange them to ensure you can never find anything. Oh well.

Wow. Maybe it's just because I'm used to more "conventional" RSS readers, and maybe it's because I imported over 200 subscriptions and 20 groups into a new app, but I found this app to be totally confusing and unintuitive. It seems like it might have some nice features, but after a few minutes of confusion (and beachballing, sometimes), I quit and trashed it. Love ecto though.
