Colbert Report, Daily Show in iTunes
As of earlier this
morning (8:00 AM EST), there is a page for both The Colbert Report [iTunes link] and the
Daily Show [iTunes
Link] in the iTunes Music Store, though they still do not contain any available episodes. The sale of these shows is being handled a bit differently. You can buy a "multi-pass" for both The Colbert Report and The Daily Show for $9.99US. This gets you the current episode, and sets up iTunes to automatically download future episodes as they become available (up to 16 episodes). Think of it as a paid podcast.

yes, this is also lovely for antipodeans... the Daily Show was on free to air TV here for a while but disappeared for no good reason...
such is the reputation of the Daily Show already overseas, though, that, as the Irony Party of Australia reports at its Electronic Pamphlet (use link for article), host Jon Stewart and the writers of the show have been offered amnesty by irony-appreciative anti-American forces in any coming war with the US...
Hello's all, I am on the market for a movie showing device SIMPLY for these 2 shows (Stephen Colbert #1!!) (Jon Stewart #1!!)
I was wondering if the Itunes option is availible for download and play on an 5GB MP3 Player Jukebox - VHD 5000
..
I ask because it seems to be an overall beter choice in all the research I found, but won't eally be worth it if I cant get me darned GOLDEN HOUR of television!
Any input on this would be GRRREAT, thanks!
If you are having trouble getting your multi-pass downloads to automatically download (like I was), try going under "Advanced -> Check for Purchases". This will head to the iTunes store and download it for you. Sucks that it isn't really automatic right now, but I'm sure their working on it. I ended up finding another song that I was missing too (probably because my PB battery went out during the download or something). Just a helpful tip for those pulling their hair out like I was.

Is this automatic download done on the authorized computer that you made your initial purchase on?
If I have an authorized computer at work and login to the store, will the next available episode be downloaded to that computer?
I'd hate to have my 16 episodes scattered amongst 2 computers....
If anyone has an answer, please post.
This is, of course, awesome. But, I just wish I could understand what the hold up is in getting more shows from networks that Apple already has deals with. I know, crazy, but NBC has a boatload of decent shows that I wish I could buy. Namely, Earl and every episode of Law and Order (pick your flavour).

It's basically look, but don't touch.

It seems as though, whenever you type in a name for an artist it will move to that artist specifically, and ask you if you want to look at the other results! I kind of like it!
March 08 2006 at 4:15 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI like the idea of the Daily Show and the Colbert Report being downloadable from Itunes but a few things scare me. I want to know if they show commercials because that's one things I hate about the Daily Show and Comedy Central in general.
With the price of just $10, it seems pretty worth it to me. The Daily Show and Colbert Report are one of the best things out there. I watched the "motherload" on Comedy Central's website but kind of got pissed about how short the clips were.
I hope people from all over the world have access to these kind of things.
This is really cool news, a lot more bang for the buck. The Chappelle download was a really good show, and excellent value for the money. Another vote for HBO. Get in there!
