iphone.org to apple.com
Here's one to chew on. Try typing http://www.iphone.org into your browser. It brings up the Apple home page. And whois shows iphone.org registered
to Apple Computer, Inc. What could it mean? Is this more evidence of the rumored Apple iphone?

okay, that's just stupid... this was mentioned in the same Mac Rumors article that the earlier post cited!

It's just Apple covering their bases. Even if you never make an iPhone, if you sell iPods and iMacs, it's nice to always have the possibility of doing iPhones someday if you want to. And that means registering trademarks, websites, etc.

The whois link you provide shows the domain was created in 1999. Is this seriously worth posting? Come on. I only bitch because I remember how awesome you guys were not even six months ago before the macworld disease infected most of the mac blogs - we're still seeing the damage.

i find it strange that the little icon next to the web address for iphone.com is different than the apple.com icon (at least it is on my computer).
just a thought....

To those who are questioning TUAW's integrity, this really is nothing new. They always post these dimwitted stories like it's something new, and then if enough people bitch they say, "Didn't catch our sarcasm?" or "We just forgot to say we knew it was old, but good" TUAW has maybe 1 interesting post a month. Any other time they are whining or posting old lame garbage... A wise thing would be to ban TUAW from your favorites, it's not worthy.
And to any whiner who is going to hit back at me, with "No one likes you!", get some friends and look up the definition of integrity...

i feel the same way as my fellow nerds here but one comment a while back flaming a particularly offensive post really made sense to me and made me rethink throwing my newly-shat feces at my monitor... it's a blog. it's just a blog. like any other blog. daily musings, nothing more. it's not hard cold facts or news as news should be. it's just a blog, offering peoples' opinions and random thoughts. nothing more. get it now? so everyone just shrug your shoulders and move away from the keyboard and call your girlfriend. if you have one.

complaining to a blog is like writing a nasty letter to a magazine. "You suck! all you do is post lame crap! Waaah!"
I mean, all magazines do with those letters is throw them out unless they're interesting, in which case they post them in the letters section for people to laugh at.
Do you seriously think complaining about TUAW for posting 'old crap' all the time is going to accomplish anything useful?
