Track your billable hours with On The Job
If you've got the
type of job that requires you to track your billable hours, check out On
The Job by Stunt Software. It's got a very iTunes-like interface and makes tracking the tasks associated with a
given job really easy. Simply create one folder per job, and store the associated tasks inside. Click the
"Play" button when you clock in, and the meter starts running. Click it again, and it stops (See? Easy). On
The Job even creates a nice invoice that you can print with a click (Ok, two clicks). It's pretty nice, and a single license will cost you $24.95 (requires Mac OS 10.3.9 or later).
Incidentally, Stunt Software is giving away one iPod nano at the end of April, as well as 30 free licenses for On The Job (one every day in April). That should make work a little more tolerable.

Any current users of iBiz have opinions of this? iBiz is a good app, but has been neglected of late and I am always lookign for the best time tracking program for my freelance graphic design business.

I'm going to download and try this one out... iBiz is a good app, but I don't like how it must integrate with Address Book, and it doesn't archive very well. Seems like iBiz is a big mess that can be simplified. I also do freelance design (only a handful of clients, though), so I'll be interested how this works...

I'm using Khronos - which is free, but not quite as flexible as OnTheJob.

Have you seen any app like this for PC? (or is this another good reason to switch :-) ?)

On The Job works very well and has a great interface, but it isn't very feature-packed (no reporting/summary tools).
So I'll stick with iBiz for now -- even though its biggest weakness is the aging and unusable UI. I hope the next version will actually remember your sorted columns!

Just piping in to clarify again - On The Job 2 does have reporting features, just click the Invoice button in the main window. You can export to PDF, text, XML, or CSV. If there's an export function you think is missing, please email and let us know!
