Airfoil for Windows

Rogue Amoeba, a leading indie Mac developer, has decided to enter the fast paced world of building Windows applications. Yes, folks, you read that correctly. Rogue Amoeba has ported Airfoil, a neat little application that allows you to stream audio other than iTunes to an Airport Express, to Windows.

I have no idea how many Windows users have Airport Expresses, but more power to Rogue Amoeba. At the moment the Windows app is in a public beta, but before long it'll cost ya $25.

MusicMatch (now part of Yahoo Music) has a great yearly subscription (individual artists and songs on demand) that I love.

It's windows only. Running Parallels, MusicMatch, and Airfoil, I can stream quality sound right into my home stereo while working in OS X. A bit complex, but it works without a hitch.

Darn - I got an airport express in December and I was hoping this wouldn't be released! Now I have one less reason to get rid of my PC...

I bought this software for the mac a few months ago. It is really worth the money. I use it with my radio widget and with VLC. It works a treat. It's mean of Apple to not allow other software to work on the Airport Express.

In the Airport Forum on Apple Discussions there were quite a few Windows users looking for a Windows version of Airfoil.

They will be happy now.
