Everyone has an opinion about Apple v. Apple
Guy Kewney is something of an expert on technology, the man pictured to the right is a cab driver. Which would you expect to see on the BBC talking about the recent Apple v. Apple verdict?Well, the BBC was hoping for Guy Kewney, but due to a mix up they got the cab driver who tried his best to answer the questions (you can watch it here, his face is priceless). You can read Guy's take at his blog.
I'm just waiting for the day when the BBC mistakenly asks me for my opinion about anything.
Thanks, Will Gore.
UPDATE: Andy points us to Guy Kewney's blog, which tells us that this guy (also named Guy) isn't a cabbie, but rather an IT worker who was at the BBC for a job interview.

Where's Guy Kawasaki when you need him?

Still it made me laugh out loud in the office when I read it and watched the video.
Yeah, I could see him being both cabbie and IT guy. And yes, he definitely bluffed his way through very well. Then again, as noted, he could have stripped naked and done the chicken dance, the interviewer wouldn't have noticed.
"Oh, sex with monkeys? I love it."
"So you'd say Apple is doing well with online downloads?"
Reminds me of when the Something Awful guy was on Attack of the Show...
I just hope this "Guy" gets the job. I mean, he clearly passed the interview test!
Considering the cabbies I've met in New York who WERE IT guys on the side (or hoping for work in that industry), it's quite possible he was both — a cabbie and an IT hopeful. Too funny.
May 15 2006 at 1:41 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replyaww, it would been more fun if he was a real cabbie.

Fishes,
narco.
I just saw there's a follow-up -- apparently the guy isn't a cab driver, at least according to the real Guy Kewney.

Still funny, though -- the guy's expression was hilarious.
I bet they did't let him say anything, with all the rush of live tv. Probably he was pulled arround and he had people installing the mics and cables all arround him, and people telling him things about what not to say and what not.

Why wouldn't I expect to see the cab driver? Aren't cab drivers famous for having opinions?
"We've secretly replaced industry pundits with Folger's Crystals... let's see if anyone notices... nope! Can't tell the difference. BS is still BS."
This is classic.
