FlickrExport 2.0 beta 1

FlickrExport has entered a 2.0 beta phase, ushering in some really, really cool new features including:
- FlickrExport now supports uploading to existing sets.
- Uploaded photos can be added to a group pool after upload.
- FlickrExport now displays a list of your tags used on Flickr which can be added to photos before uploading. This list can be filtered using regular expressions.
- FlickrExport can copy the title and description back to iPhoto if it has been changed inside FlickrExport. This feature is turned off by default.
- If a photo's date has been modified in iPhoto, FlickrExport now communicates this to Flickr.
- It is now possible to specify description text for a new Photoset as well as its title.

I actually wrote a blog post about this in which I said "pricing will be announced when the final version ships" but, not being very good with these computer things, I managed to leave it set as "private" in WordPress.

It's a great tool, and definately worth a few of my pounds. 2.0 looks even better.

Considering the literal gigabytes of photos I've uploaded using it, making a simple payment for it is not a problem at all. Maybe you can make even more money by charging by the GB uploaded :D

I'll be buying a licence for this plugin- it's just brilliant.

I will definitely be buying a license once it's out of beta. It actually makes iPhoto *useful* (well, that and the Ken Burns effect). I hope he makes a boatload of dollars/pounds/euros.

I'll buy a license if it's affordable enough not to scare my budget away. And maybe another for my wife, even if that were a more expensive total than a higher priced single license I didn't buy because of sticker shock.

as a loyal, long-time FlickrExport user, I will gladly support April's college fund....and strongly support an Aperture version as well.

Oh, I'll be buying a license as well. This plugin actually makes Flickr useful to me. :)

I actually donated money to Mr. Spiers in the past, so I would be more than happy to pay for a license (if the price is right).
It's an amazing plug-in that I use almost daily.

Scott,
I totally agree. I wouldn't have considered using Flickr were it not for FlickrExport!

No, on principle. No matter how "cool" the plugin is. If I had known from the start that I was donating my services to a free beta testing programme, it may have been a different story.
Doing without it requires but a few extra clicks, so there's definitely not enough incentive for me to write a replacement. Though maybe, in time, somebody else with more time to spare will do that. Till then, a few extra clicks it is.
The Mac community really needs more of an infusion of a proper open source mentality. And I really need to learn to check whether the things I download are open source or merely "freeware".

Even though I'm not using it much at the moment (preparing most pictures in Aperture these days) I'll send some money Frasier's way. I'm quite happy to support programmers in their creative efforts (even programmers have to eat, sometimes).
(Those unwilling to pay can undoubtedly continue to use version 1, right?)

Whine, whine, whine, Johann. Really, how about: he gave you the opportunity to use a free version for a long time, and provided you service and support on his own dime? How about you stop looking at yourself for a little bit and cut the guy some slack? Sheesh; free, free, free, without any compensation. If you don't like it, use Flickr's own upload tool then.
Freakin' selfish kids these days.

I've stopped using iPhoto in favour of Aperture; if he releases a parallel plugin (or makes this one work for both) I'd certainly pay for it.
The killer feature for an Aperture-Flickr interface would be automatic RAW-JPEG conversion; I could use quicksilver's flickr plugin if it weren't for the fact that all my (new) photos are RAW.

Completely hilarious, the hypocrites that frequent this site.
From freaking out over Textpander to claiming to be happy to pay for FlickrExport.
