Star Wars: Clone Wars in iTunes
Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series has been added to the US iTunes Music Store [iTunes link]. I haven't seen it, but as an admitted Star Wars geek I know I should. It's priced at the usual $1.99US per episode, which seems rather odd as most of them are around four minutes long. Still, season 1 is available. Go and get it, Star Wars geeks.

#5, I noticed that too and thought "Sweet!" and immediately purchased them all.
Unfortunately, the compression settings used result in WAY TOO MUCH pixelation if you watch the video at anything larger than default iPod screen size. Real bummer.
I'd recommend getting the DVD instead.
Yes, Clone Wars is very good. Indeed better than the new movies. I'm a fan of Tartakoff, but I couldn't see his animation style working with Star Wars - I was wrong.
However, I have to say, as is pretty common, someone screwed this deal up. This series is rather old, and most people who would want it should already have it. Plus, as you said, the episodes are painfully short, and $1.99 is ridiculous. Definitely buy the season.
I'm looking forward to the day we see these kind of things in iTunes in a timely fashion. That's when they'll get my money.
P.S. #2...no.
As the article mentions, the episodes are priced at $1,99, however, all 20 episodes can be purchased at the "season" price of $10.99.... thats a pretty sweet deal!

May 26 2006 at 8:14 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThis is cool news, but then again, I ripped my Clone Wars DVDs to iPod size long ago. If anybody is interested in it and hasn't seen an episode yet, I would absolutely recommend downloading an episode from iTunes to see if you like it enough to buy the DVDs.
The DVDs can be probably be had for $15 or less, however they're all tied together, so you'd have to cut the episodes apart if you wanted the ability to watch them indivdually.
I am not a "starwars geek" but do I have the right to see them ?
