FlickrExport 2 is done, shipping soon

Fraser Speirs announced on his personal blog today that FlickrExport 2, his fantastic iPhoto plugin for uploading to Flickr, is done and will be shipping soon. Yes, we know that since it isn't available right now, this post becomes a little less useful, but we thought y'all might appreciate hearing when a beta product has actually been announced as 'finished' (*ahem*, Google). As Fraser's original beta 2 post states, pricing for this vastly updated and improved version will be announced when the FlickrExport product page goes live with the new version. Stay tuned.

[thanks Nik Fletcher!]

I'll be holding back from ponying up twenty-one bucks for a plug-in as buggy as FlickrExport. It hangs, freezes iPhoto and never completes its upload. When re-trying it sends duplicate photos. Yes, Flickr is incredible (but no substitute for .Mac) and we do need a powerful and bug-free integrated plug-in. Does 2.0 FlickrExport do it? I'll be on the sidelines watching...

Cheers iChris - I was away from del.icio.us (at work!) and hadn't got the link handy. Looking forward to this immensely.

Sir Not Appearing in this Blog

I have no problem with paying for useful software, and make no mistake, this is useful software. I'm not a heavy Flickr user, but this makes using it worlds easier.

Yes it is - http://www.connectedflow.com/blog/?p=28

I don't understand why flickr hasn't hired this guy and put this out as an actual flickr product.

Nice, but i still wish he'd include the ability to upload to an already-created set. I have to turn to FlickrUploadr when i want to do this.

It's a shame he's going to start charging. I'll probably end up buying it just because I use it so much, but I'm glad I snagged the latest beta release last night. :X
