Happy iCal Day
Several people emailed us to make sure we noted that today is that most special day: iCal day! That's right, today is the date that is featured on iCal's icon by default, so that means when you launch iCal today the icon won't change. Freaky, huh? Also, 51 years ago today Disneyland opened. Coincidence? I think not.
So, dear readers, how are you going to celebrate iCal day?

And my birthday too (I was too busy celebrating to read anything on the Web yesterday).

July 17 2006 at 6:57 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyAnd it's my birthday too! My husband bought iCal a dozen roses and a pair of earrings, but I only got a new library book due date and an alarm about a meeting tomorrow.

July 17 2006 at 4:19 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI had always assumed that July 17 was the median date of the year (though I never took the time to do the actual calculations.)
If you're going to pick a random date from the year, you might as well pick the one that falls smack in the middle.
I will celebrate it by celebrating my birthday. Which it is.

Do I get the bait taking prize, too?
Well since today is also my birthday today I'm going out on the town.
Just me, iCal, a bevy of gorgeous women and a lot of beers. It's
gonna be some night.
To be honest I always thought iCal displayed July 17th because it was my birthday. I assumed that at some point I had inputed my birthday during registration and so iCal used that. I had no idea it was a universal thing. So now you have no excuse for forgetting my birthday next year.
Cheers
a hot spicy nothing.
