While I like the idea of searching, I'll stick w/ my paper Moleskine and fountain pens. ;-)

Journler is more robust and it's free. (I do adore the icon though!)

Richard, it imports DOC format just fine. If you'd like DOC export, that's simple (Cocoa does it for me). I can add that into 1.1.1 without issue. I'd just never needed the feature nor had anyone else I'd talked to.

Hell, I'll add HTML and plain text while I'm at it. -shrug-

There's more than one way to approach notes, and the way Journler approaches it is the kitchen sink method. That appeals to a whole lot of people that want the kitchen sink.

Some, however, if they know they'll never video blog from their notebook program would rather not even have the feature. Notae takes notes. It's not a scrapbook, though it can be a limited one. It's not a place to shove everything you could possibly imagine holding, though it'll let you try. It writes notes, and is centered around doing just that. Don't think scrapbook; think multi-document TextEdit.

For that, I think, it does very, very well. If you want to record video in your notebook, however, it's going to laugh at you.

Well, it's got a ways to catch up with the free Journler app, which I'm sticking to.
