iPhone not going to be called iPhone?
Apple's working on a phone, this we know. We also know that it will be called the iPhone, right? Pete Mortensen doesn't think so, mostly because another company has the term trademarked (though it is in reference to a VoIP service, so Apple probably could use the term iPhone).I think that Apple, should they ever come out with a phone, will call it the iPod. iPod has nothing to do with music, so why should they try and build another brand when they already have a winner?
Go tell Pete what you think Apple should name this often rumored device, and feel free to chime in here.

The MacPhone would be a pay as you go, low capacity music player/phone with white plastic enclosure (or black). MacPhone Pro will have a metal enclosure to match with the Pro line of apple computers. It will be the RAZR-like style phone. MacPhoen Ultimate is like a Treo or Blackberry, and wil run OS X portable.
For the iPods, they should have "Macpod"= iPod nano "MacPod Pro"= 5g iPod and "MacPod Ultimate"= widescreen "true" video iPod. MacPod would be white/black. MacPod Pro would have metal enclosure like pro line of apple computers, so will MacPod Ultimate.
To match the Macpod/phone line and make everything consistant, "Mac"= mac mini (with white or black enclosures). "Mac Pro"= iMac (metal enclosures). "Mac Ultimate"= Powermac g5. This is flawed, because it leaves no room for a normal priced tower desktop and the iMac, isnt very "pro" to me.
This my idea for a perfect apple with complete product agreement throughout every line of their products.
Or Apple could just steal a page from Moto's playbook and go with IPHN.

"As regards cell phones, we don't think that the phones that are available today make the best music players. We think the iPod is. But over time, that is likely to change. And we're not sitting around doing nothing."
Which means that Apple believes the iPod to be the best music player on the market at this time, but over time that may change. It does not mean they believe a cell phone will be the new form factor if and when that change takes place. It means they are working on new designs for a music player, as always.
Time to step back into reality and stop hyping what doesn't exist.
how about the telePod?
