Get Swift!
Swift is a Webkit based browser for Windows (the first of its kind). What does that mean to you? Well, Webkit is the HTML engine that drives Safari, and is included in OS X with lots of hooks for developers. Chances are if you are doing web browsing on the Mac you're using Webkit (though the Firefox based browsers do not make use of Webkit). Thanks to the open source nature of Webkit Swift is being developed to bring some Webkit love to the PC. I tried out Swift and it is definitely a work in progress but it is something to keep your eye on.

Between this and the "Intel Mac: web developers' dream machine", there are some hefty excuses for web developers NOT to bother with Macs.
Specifically, that Mac users can use IE (as well as firefox, native or not), and that the developers can now test with Swift instead of doing a proper check in Safari.

I tried out Swift, and compared to firefox it seems much faster at rendering pages. Clearly its very much an alpha release but it seems stable, despite lacking many features (e.g. bookmarks, the tools menu, bookmarks toolbar, loading progress bar, status bar changing, print preview working etc). As far as rendering itself goes, it seems flawless. Overall, its a good start, and I imagine will help people with only access to windows support mac users.

Thanks, I'll check it out, but I'm spoiled by my Firefox extensions. ;-)

I feel compelled to mention that browsers like Camino and Seamonkey aren't "Firefox based." All three browsers are Gecko based, which means that they're siblings to Firefox, not children.

After launching it, you can immediately tell it's at 0.1. The UI is nonexistant and the rendering with WebKit is a -tiny- bit off.

Very nice beginning indeed. Still needs work, but so far looking pretty good :)! I seldom use my Windows XP PC anymore, but when I do, it would be nice to have some Mac like programs so I don't feel quite as uncomfortable?
