MacZot and Disco ask you to trust them

MacZot and the guys behind AppZapper are asking all you hard working readers to fork over your cash for a yet-to-be-announced application by the name of Disco. The idea is you get in early at a price way below what the app will eventually cost; and you get access to the private beta.

Not much is known about Disco other than a few small screenshots, some hints given on the MacZot page, and some super-seekrit classified info (italicized for your reading pleasure) that I've been able to acquire from an anonymous source. What we know it does:

- 3D particle effects
- Motion sensing
- Sound sensing
- At times, the app icon will begin smoking as an indication of certain application activity

According to my source, a lot of effort has been put into making Disco look really, really good. Although it might sound that Disco is just a lot of fluff, I can assure you that it does serve a real purpose, and does do something useful. I just cant tell you what that something is.

I completely agree with Ralph and scralpha; I believe that it is a disc burning utility. Here's why:

1. Name's Disco (hmm...Disc-o)
2. The program burns (i.e. burns discs): "At times, the app icon will begin smoking as an indication of certain application activity"'

But there are plenty disc burning utilities out there (Toast), so I'm sure that there's something else out there.

i really think its a complete skin change that includes an itunes visualizer. motion sensor so you can dance with it(yeah i know, question is why would you jump around with your mac??. as you jump the visualizer bounces and when you blow it move far away from you. cool i think. maybe you can blow the smoke around...

I was too mystified to not get in on the action. I don't know why no one has suggested this, but it seems to me like an OS X skin, if such a thing is possible. The only graphics in the previews are things like new status bars, a new update graphic like the update graphic in OS X update, new ok buttons, and new window control buttons. Looking forward to the beta!

Motion and sound sensing? Movement and blowing? Sounds like a sex sim to me. ;)

So I was able to register and buy in FireFox - sometimes I just had to hit refresh for the server-error-pages to go away; I never got an error when it came time to pay becuase I went via Paypal, so those didn't have erroneous pages, therefore, don't worry about being double/triple-billed.

Yeah, I purchased it too. I seem to like Kevin's guess that it is an iTunes visualizer.

Mark D.,
Disco is being created by the AppZapper team and designed by Jasper Hauser, so I'm pretty sure that it will be a well-designed, good-looking app, even if some people don't find it useful for themselves...
I've had success with MacZot before so I'm willing to bet $5 on this.

John:

Yes. It sure sounds like a useless app, which does nothing but waste your time.

I guess that's why MacZot writes:

"The above 3 features are totally unrelated to the core function"

To ensure us that the app isn't as useless as it sounds.

Motion sensor? Detecting "blows"? This sounds like the worst app ever made.
