Apple special event on Sept. 12?
iLounge is reporting that Apple is summoning journalists to an 'undisclosed' location in Northern California on September 12th (unrelated to the event on the 25th). The scuttlebutt is that Apple will be announcing something at this event, though who knows if it will be new iPods, movie downloading from iTunes, or some iPod HiFi-like product.Let's hope the Post Office doesn't misplace our invitation again.

I know!
Apple will be releasing the $50 iPod with a crank on the side, for children in third world countries. :D

Perhaps it is upgraded Mac Mini's? There have been a lot of rumblings about them recently.Though I'm not sure why a Mac Mini would require a special event.
My money is on colourful Nano successors.

If true, this probably means something only U.S. specific :( , given that Apple Expo Paris kicks off the very same day.

It's going to be a new iMac. Some friend of mine told me, that Apple has some new CPU and GPU ready for the new iMac. The iMac will now support the 30" Cinema Display. Maybe they will put the new Core 2 Duo in too.
I just hope the price tag will be the same...

i would like to see a 23" and 30" version of the iMac, forget supporting the 30" it to me seems like a logical step forward. Remember folks you heard it here first :)

What would seem most likely would be a Merom based MacBook, since just about every other notebook vendor has introduced one in the last couple of weeks.

The undisclosed location is a rented house with Apple's new home theater package installed.
Steve will be doing his demo from the La-Z-Boy.
