That awesome OK Go video is in the iTMS
OK Go is a pretty rocking little band signed to a major label, but they release their videos using the grassroots goodness of the internets like YouTube and Google Video. Their latest craze is the video for a song called Here It Goes Again, and it's the work of pure genius. While the video is of course available in crummy Flash quality for free, I just noticed today that it appeared in the iTMS (link) for $1.99, and I'm having a hard time thinking of many other bands who deserve a purchase as much as OK Go for such hard and creative work - no matter how measly their cut may be.

Just bought it. This is why I read TUAW, otherwise I would have never found it myself :)

If I remember right, all of the band or the majority of the band are graduates from DePaul University in Chicago. Gives me hope.

Are you kidding me? It's free on their website. Be a real hero and buy their album, for crying out loud.

#2: Album sales, traditionally, are the lowest source of income for a band; it's where they get shafted the most by the record label. While I have no idea if OK Go might have an unorthodox contract with Capitol Records, it's been widely analyzed and speculated that many bands get more of a cut from each song/album sale through digital venues like the iTMS than through traditional means. I would also wager that since their videos seem to be grassroots efforts they embark on all their own, they might score more from each of these video sales.

Why not buy both? On iTunes, their newest album, with the song from the music video, is only $6.93.

You really think that the video is clever enough to ignore the fact that the sound the band is making is more painful than having a pencil shoved in your ear?
Honestly, no music video is good enough to EVER buy on iTMS. Especially this one.
