VESA Mount adapter kit for 24 inch iMac
If you thought that hovering LCD in our Rig of the Day was cool, and I certainly did, then check out the VESA mount adapter kit for the 24 inch iMac. Imagine that gargantuan iMac just floating above your desk, or on your wall (perhaps in your livingroom?). Totally sweet. The kit costs $29 and it just makes the iMac mountable, it doesn't include an arm or wall mount.
Thanks, john.

I contacted Ergotron in reference to the 2 arms listed below. I beleive one is pictued on the Apple web site, and this is the response I received from Ergotron.
Neo-Flex⢠LCD Arm
LX Desk Mount LCD Arm (silver)
Good Afternoon
Thank you for contacting Ergotron. Neither of these arms would be compatible with your iMac. Unfortunately if you are looking for an articulating desk mount arm Ergotron would not have a solution at this time. Ergotron is releasing new product all of the time and possibly sometime nest year may have a solution for the large monitor displays.
Thank you again for your inquiry
I'd imagine this is only available on the 24" because the larger size means they can have a flat spot in the middle, while keeping the curves of the 20" and 17". I really wish they'd go back to the old design on the smaller models. I would love to have a VESA mount on my 20" Core Duo.

I don't want a swing arm or pneumatics or anything, just the ability to mount the last LCD in my office off the desk, up at eye level, on the wall (or from the underside of the cabinet). I was really disappointed when they dropped this, and 6 months is too soon for another iMac upgrade (for me personally, that is)

The Ergotron pictured states it's for monitors up to 18 pounds. I like this Ergotron Arm but it doesn't have the oomph. Any ideas for a good heavy lifting, flexible arm for the 24 iMac?

The monitor arm they are using with the mounting kit, is made by Ergotron www.ergotron.com. I have one for my 20" lcd and they are very sturdy and work great.
The availability of this means that the back of the 24" is not the same as the other two sizes, as when the current 17"/20" case with isight was released last year the ability to use the VESA kit from the previous G5 iMac was lost... does anyone have any pictures of the back panel?
