Safari's browser market share rises to 3.53 percent
Internet Explorer may still have the lead with 82.10 percent, but while it is coming off it's lowest overall ranking in almost 2 years, according to statistics by Market Share, Firefox and Safari are both at their highest rankings since January '05. Firefox sits comfortably in second place with 12.46 percent, while Safari ranks third with 3.53 percent - up from 3.19 percent in June. Go Safari, go! Go Safari, go!

No! Don't Go! Firefox, just use it.
I admit you have to endure Safari to download Firefox first of all, but it's worth it!

Shreedhan: Firefox for Mac sucks.
Use Camino!
Or even better: Use the OmniWeb 30 day trial!

I'm with the others here ... Firefox for Mac sucks, it's a resource hog, particularly in regards to RAM ... after switching around to a few different browsers, I came back to Safari a while back, and just haven't left, because it does what it does and it does it well. Sure there are some small things I would change/add, but overall it's excellent.
Go, Safari, go!! :)

Sarah is totally right...while not perfect, Safari outdoes all the others, with the possible exception of OmniWeb. I've tried Firefox 5 or 6 times, just because so many people are ga-ga over it and it's unbearable - it's painfully slow, it is a *huge* resource hog, and it's not as stable. It is nice to be able to work in the same browser on different platforms, but for me it's just not worth suffering with it on my Mac.

I have a habbit to try all browsers available to market, but Safari made a place in my heart, still going back to it all the times and using it most of time.
Inpage search and fit to page option, like opera, and it is perfect.

I'm glad to hear this. Even with the launch of IE 7 (which is a huge improvement over IE 6), it is still very much lacking compared to FireFox on PC. There are just so many ignorant Windows users who use anything that is on their desktop when they buy the computer and has 'internet' in the name, which I find kinda pitiful. And as for the small percentage of personal computer owners that are Mac users? Safari FTW!

So are we saying that PC users are goofing off at work less or Mac users more?
I thought the statistics reflected that Mac/Safari users had more interesting jobs, browsed less, and just worked harder overall.

Safari does it for me. And for those times she doesn't feel like it, i just head over to Camino. Firefox just doesn't feel right. I use it when I'm on windows though, but those are rare moments, really rare.

Feh. Safari is just fine, it rocks plenty, and the many hacks out there (two of my faves are Saft and SafariStand) make it the best tool for me. I also use FireFox, but not as my main browser ('cept in Winders).
Seriously. There's enough complexity in my life. Using Safari has brought many benefits and no downside in my browsing life. So I use it.

I have tried FF and Camino, as well as Shiira. I just keep coming back to Safari. Hell, it is good enough for me to use as my primary RSS feed newsreader, and much prefer its interface over that of Vienna.
