Aurora 3

We have written about Aurora before, and now a new version of this freeware alarm clock app is available. It will still awake you with some sweet, sweet tunes from your iTunes library (you can even use a playlist, or smart playlist). It now supports a snooze function using the Apple Remote, which is pretty darned cool if you ask me. It also supports playing radio or TV shows from EyeTV.
Aurora is a Universal Binary, and is free (donations are welcome).

Downgrade!
For starters, I now have to keep Aurora running all the time, where as in 2.3 it would auto-launch.
And a smaller gripe would be the menu bar icon is now in color, a ugly, ugly, ugly color that sticks out.

Hmm, macbook as an alarm clock, the most annoying household appliance. I wonder how many times it could hit the wall before dying.
UPDATE: Once, just once...well, at least i'm up.
;D

Rick, It would be great if you could use the feedback form at http://metaquark.de/aurora/ to describe exactly how Aurora doesn't work.

I have the same question for all these alarm apps - will it wake my computer from sleep and work despite the login-security log that appears when my computer wakes from sleep?

i love this app! i've used it since 1.0 and i actually like minimalistic new icon. i had hacked the other one so it would just show the time. thanks for the heads up on the update and thanks for this awesome app jonas!

I picture myself smashing my laptop as the alarm goes off at Oh-dark:30 in the morning....

Oh yeah, it would be nice to have the dashboard display on wake, maybe have Aurora as a widget.

Patrick-
It warns you if your screen saver password is set, but it can't override the password. It will wake from sleep and play, but I think the timeout on the login screen will make it go back to sleep. Other that that, I'd say this alarm clock is perfect.
Does anyone know of a way to script the password to be turned off temporarily, so it doesn't go back to sleep?
