Concept-iPhone Compendium
TUAW reader Okan Gürvardar has put together a huge collection of iPhone concept art over at his Apple iPhone blog. The art, which has been created by Apple fans, runs the gamut from the impossible to the brilliant to the absurd. In a way, it will be a huge let-down if Apple actually delivers on the iPhone at Macworld this January because it will cut off some of the most creative expressions of Apple fandom. I'm particularly fond of the wrist-phone shown here.

I don't think that link leads anywhere. It just keeps sending me to a blank page. What's up?

If that isn't a live hyperlink, use the link on my name.

Hmm, it seems like most of these concepts are based on an iPod mini or nano-esque design, entailing a slider that reveals another function. It will be interesting to see what Apple does (if anything) for a phone design. The most convincing to me was the 8th one down. Looks like a nano-styled slider with the metal casing found on the 2nd gen nano. I'd love to see some more divings into a flip phone design that get away from the heavily iPod influenced concepts we've seen thus far. I think people are getting into a rut and deciding that IF Apple pulls through with this thing that it WILL be a slider and it WILL look like an iPod. I'll tell you, I'm not completely convinced of that yet...

I would love to see the iPhone look and feel like a Treo :) I am very happy with my Treo 650 however i would love to have a mobile version of OS X. If the iPhone does not have all of the features of the current Smart Phones like the Treo's I am afraid i will have to stick with the Treo.
I love having Adgendus installed as the all in one app for my contacts, email, etc. The iPhone should be similar in order for me to buy one.

None of the concepts include Apple's recently patented bezel controls that have been shown on this and other sites. That would allow a screen without a click wheel or slide-out number pad. Add a mini-keyboard option for those who want to text with physical keys, and you've got a really innovative phone. (Who has the copyright for iFon?)

This is really a wonderful site. And today I found another one:
http://iphoneconcept.blogspot.com . But this one has less iPhones ":)" than Gurvardar's one has.

I doubt the iPhone will encompass all the features the Treo 700p already offers (MP3 player, video player, internet, google maps, digital camera, video camera, ftp, bluetooth, contacts, programs, utilities, games, infrared com, modem, etc.) and will improve upon but will welcome it for the sake of competition and perhaps a reduction in price for my next Treo Smartphone upgrade ;-) oh yeah!
