I saw flapper and was excited about an Art Deco dame tell me that it was going to rain. Alas, no such luck.

It didn't get the weather right today, but it did tell me when the sun went down. Pretty cool. Dashboard worthy for a week or so maybe. I admit I am a bit curious to see what it evolves into.

I wish I knew how to work it (other than inputting my city). Does it need what's flashing red, or is the red flashing meaning to stay away? How do you know what it needs when? :)

Yes I believe the red flashing lights indicate that is what it needs. Okay - so I get the food, play, and sleep buttons. But what the heck is the fourth option?! The one with the exclamation point? When I click on that one - it just seems to upset the Flapper...

My flappie has an issue where it thinks it is nighttime all the time it never has the right weather but yet I keep feeding t. Personnally I think the thing is full of glitches it also tells me every other day or so that there is a new version available and asks if I would like to update

Yeah - that definiteloy sounds like a bug. Mine thinks it's daytime 20 hours of the day and is always sunny. Anyone know the significance of the population # on the back? It jumps around from 4 to 7 to 2?!!!

I'm wondering what the exclamtion point button is too. I think it might be like verbal punishment. Also I think that the population might pertain to how many flappers are living in that area, but still not totally sure. My brother thinks that the population might refer to how many thousands of people live in your town. Hope this was helpful or idea sparking.

the population is how many friends you have given it to play with!

Looking at the Widget code that extra button is titled: discipline_button. My Flappie does not seem to mis-behave though. :)

Ahh! Good to know. Wait but the # is how many friends you've given it? How do you give it friends? By clicking on the play button? Everytime you click you give it a friend or something?
Anyone figure out how long it takes for this guy to "transform" by the way? I think I'm on 2 weeks now and nothing...

I think our Flapper has attention deficit syndrome. Our toddler requires less attention than this thing. I am ready to let the little widget die just so I don't have to waste so much time trying to make this thing happy.

I have had flapper for about 1 week....
the weather is never correct when its sunny and clouds on the widget its actually snowing....sorrta stupid..
I think what the population means is how many flappers are in your neighborhood. reason to that is when i got it the population was 3, i told my sister to get one and it went up to 4. Plus i bent she told her friend and now the population says 5.
I bet u this thing doesent turn into enything.....
it would be cool if it did..

You have to use the verbal discipline button when your flappie gets crosses for eyes... this happens if you feed and play with him too much sometimes. My flappie is always smiling, he never shows any emotions. And I think he has night and day mixed up, and the weather is never right.
But I have to tell you, this is my second flappie. I let the first one die by accident, and it was pretty sad. It just shows a little tombstone that says, "RIP Flappie". And where are you guys seeing the population number? Mine doesn't have that....

The new version of Falppie has no population on the back and there is this heart. Does anyone know what that means?

No - I have that new updated one and it doesn't seem to light up the "things" flappie needs?!! I've waited over 24 hours to see if that would change - but it hasn't...now there's a "1" in the heart....is that bad or something?

I have the "1" in the heart too...
Does anyone else notice that it makes a howling sound at about dusk? When it's still a bit light out, and the stars can be faintly seen in the background? It's a strange coyote-like howling sound. Maybe not. It could be something else on my computer I have yet to figure out...

I wish there was an "about" section for little Flappie so I knew what to do. How often do I feed it? Do I wait until its little lights turn red or do I just feed it whenever? Can you overfeed it? If it doesn't get squiggly eyes, do I just keep feeding it and playing with it until they eyes get squggly? And what gives with the little heart? How many numbers until I know its number is up?
Is this supposed to be like having a baby? It doesn't come with a manual, but you just figure it out? Hmm...

I just got my Flappie today. I moved him to Bali, where I thought he'd have some nice weather. He's already done a stint in Ulan Bator - but I thought that was a bit unkind so I gave him an upgrade. Does anyone else move their Flappies about? Do they die of cold?

I don't think they die of cold. It has been pretty miserable where I live and little Flappy just smiles (and eats and sleeps). I do, however, have the number 2 on my heart now. I'm starting to think that maybe that's a good thing, like I've made it to stage 2 of success and pretty soon I'll find out what my little Flappy flaps into.
I guess we'll wait and see...
