Monocle: Web Search Tool

The just-released Monocle adds a simple little search box to your menubar, which by default supports Google, Wikipedia, Windows Live, and Yahoo. You can add other search engines just "by performing an example search inside a web browser window in Monocle". You can also define a Global Hotkey to bring up Monocle quickly. Personally, I much prefer Quicksilver for this sort of task, but I know some folks like good single use programs, so Monocle might be worth a look.

Monocle is a free download, but donations are requested.

Menubar Weather: It's an Intel build of Meteorologist I found a long time ago in the forums. Unfortunately, it link to it doesn't work anymore. It is, however, possible to build it for Intel using the Meteorologist source from what I hear.

I'd like it more if it opened a little window below it during search, similar to Spotlight, though not a menu... Still might be of use, even though Camino also has the searchbar.

I second the question, to what weather-fetcher are you using in your menu bar ?

Handy little widget, especially with a global hotkey... but yeah, kinda unnecessary with something like Quicksilver and the built-in search bar FF and Safari have in 'em.

What weather fetcher are you using?

entirely

I suppose at this stage the app doesn't do much that can't be done with quicksilver but I've read that the searches are going to be saved in the future versions and google suggest will be added in addition to lot of other features. So, it might be more attractive in the near future.
