New iPhone Commercial

"Hello!" If you weren't watching the Oscars then you might have missed the first Apple iPhone commercial. Featuring famous actors saying "hello", the new ad just ran on ABC during the Academy Awards telecast. After the montage, which includes a shot from Pixar's "The Incredibles", it ends via a shot of the iPhone, the word "Hello", "Coming this June", and the Apple logo. Just a brief feel for things to come. We'll update this post with a link to the actual commercial as soon as we can.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in.

Update 2: You can watch a much higher quality video of the iPhone commercial here.

Update: You can watch a bootleg quality version of the video here.

Hey #26!
Don't you know that things that are over-used in the UK, are avate garde, and witty to us Yanks? LOL Half of our TV shows are based on British ones!

I liked the ad, and the whole "Hello" reference to the Mac. To the person who said Apple is "betting the farm" on the iPhone. Absolutely! Steve pretty much came right out, and said that at the "Stevenote" This is the lynchpin for their entire strategy going forward. If the iPhone flops, (which it won't) then I think we'd see Apple kinda pull back into their shell for a while. But I'm pretty confident that this is the start of huge things, for them, and in no time at all I'll be cooking my breakfast of iEggs, on my iStove, then I'll jump in my iShower, and use my 80gb iSoap....It just gets worse from there, you get it.

This may just be me, but I find it irritating that there is no period after "Hello" -- it definitely should be "Hello."

but otherwise, I'm liking the ad. Although it is a bit early . . . Apple really has high hopes for this $500 phone.

I would have preferred it if they did what they did with the U2 ad for the 5G iPod; pull out to reveal it playing on the iPhone before the screen switches as it receives a call. Also, I wanted the hello to be on the iPhone screen (and in hand-written letters) like it was with the 1984 Mac and Newton.

Oh well, at least the new iPod ads are top notch... just a shame about the UK "I'm a Mac" ads.

Sadly this sort of advert has been overused, especially by SKYtv in the UK. You soon get pissed off with people saying the same thing over and over.

Not at all creative.

Not that this is relevant to the iPhone, at all, but when Sarah Jessica Parker says hello I'm assuming she was playing Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City. In that show she frequently uses a PowerBook G3 while talking on the phone, and i'm 90% certain she answers "hello" while using it. So my question is why show her using some random old laptop instead of an Apple product?
