This guy loves his Mac

As a lifelong Mac user, I haven't had the pleasure of "switching" (something which seems to happen quite often). Sometimes it goes poorly, I'm sure, and the would-be Mac user goes back to a Windows world. Other times, it goes well...very well.

Blogger The Northlondonhippie is celebrating his second year as a Mac user with a heartfelt post about his beloved iMac:

"Sometimes, even when it's sleeping, I just glance over at it, sitting quietly in the corner, on my desk and I can't believe how good it looks."

Umm...yeah. it's OK to love your Mac, Northlondonhippie, just don't love your Mac. You see what we mean?

Thanks, Sean!

Don't worry, Dave, the party's only on its way out the door because the house is not big enough for all the attendees anymore - so we're spilling out on to the lawn. Everyone is still welcome, even if we eventually have to take over the entire street to accommodate us all.

I love to walk by my den after I have put my iMac to sleep, the pulsing power light is like watching your lover breathe while sleeping.... : )

Mentalsticks, you're right, 'on the verge of racism' is what you said. Nonetheless, I appreciate your apology.

While it may seem like I was generalizing, I was in fact responding to poster #4, who in turn was commenting on poster #1 (Derek). It's that kind of response that you never used to see on here, or other apple/mac related forums.

So, it wasn't you I was calling banal and unconsidered. Forgive me for that impression. At least you had the decency to read my comments and offer an apology.

Cheers....no harm done I hope.

OK, point taken. I'm a switcher, too, and obviously I'm not referring to ALL switchers. And yes, maybe it'll be some disgruntled former Apple employee who develops the first virus. But I reckon whatever I say won't suit you so I'll leave it at that.

Mentalsticks...What the Hell are you talking about? Try looking up racsim in your dictionary. I'd like you to retract your statement please. I am not a racist, I am a snob. It's like being a member of a club. You join cos you like the exclusivity of it. If every man under the sun starts to join it's not so nice is it?

Martin, thanks for the support.

mentalsticks, #13: no it doesn't – and he's absolutely right. You mark my words, if anyone manages to create a virus that infects OS X and forces us all to buy nasty virus protection products, it'll be a former Windows user.

To #4 Yes I have noticed this and it's bugging me too. Call me a snob but I used to consider mac users as more intelligent. Someone that chose a mac was making a considered choice. But nowadays, as growth continues and switchers increase, we get mac users who are 'just' ex PC users, bringing their banality and PC experiences with them. I recommended a mac to a colleague of mine, he bought one, but he continues to be a typical PC user, bashing away on msn messenger all day. It's a sad state of affairs. I'd be happy for growth to stop.
