Miglia introduces TVMini Express
About a week ago, we posted about the budget Equinux digital TV tuner. Now Miglia joins the low-end price club having announced its TVMini Express. Like Equinux, this USB unit provides over-the-air digital TV tuning and costs only $69 (£40, €50) while the Equinux, to compare, costs €40. You get a tuner, a portable antenna, a USB 2.0 cable to connect to the computer and a CD-ROM with "software"--until recently, Miglia shipped EyeTV with their tuners but as we recently posted, they did not renew their EyeTV license. The TVMini Express should be available for purchase towards the end of this month.

How is this different from the TV Mini? (apart from EyeTV)

I paid about $100 or so for an HDTV USB dongle for my PC. Boy, I sure wish it had OS X drivers, too, especially after seeing how overpriced OS X non-HD dongles are.

I just got a TVMiniHD like last week before the
$50 rebate expired making it $100. I see this does over the air and its compact, so it would be nice for traveling. The TVMini HD does QAM unencrypted channels on regular cable which is very nice. If this doesn't do that then I guess my purchase was worth it. Plus the TVMini comes with a full remote (though the apple remote works with EyeTV no matter what)
