Ooh, the anticipation is mounting! When the iPhone was first introduced, I (and a few other TUAW bloggers) signed up to receive notification of the devices availability. Today, a few of us received the following email from Apple. It features an image of the phone, a link to the iPhone homepage and the message:"Talk to you soon. Thanks for signing up. You'll be the first to hear the latest about iPhone - coming this June. That gives you just enough time to think of ways to break the news to your current phone."
Sounds good, Apple!
Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

For the past 6 months or so I have yet to find any useful information in any of these emails. Today's has pushed me to modify my settings in my Apple alerts and also flagged it as spam in Gmail. The world already knows that June is the window of release. What I expected when I submitted my email was for details, like the page said not spam.

Rubbinz: you approved them sending you email. If you no longer like what they're sending, then unsubscribe. Marking them as spam has consequences because it makes GMail more likely to flag it as spam for everyone else, too. You're misrepresenting what they send as unsolicited. You suck. :)

June should give them enough time to swap out the pathetic 2 megapixel camera for something worth including. I can't find a phone on the market now with a camera less than 3 megapixels.
It does have a flash, doesn't it? Even one of the LED ones?

I too just got this today (and frantically sent it into TUAW) I noticed that the cingular logo hasn't changed to AT&T yet (like the one in the iPhone commercial) and that the FCC disclaimer is still there meaning they are waiting until the very last minute! Maybe there are some changes yet to come, with solid GPS I could easily justify this purchase!!!!

Interesting... all the previous iPhone pictures displayed the time as 9:41, but this one is on 9:42

Who are the idiots who send stuff like this into TUAW? Like they and everybody else who reads this didn't join Apple's mailing list. I just KNEW this would be on there with the retarded message "THANSK TO EVERYONE WHO SENT THIS IN!" like they give a damn.

What if the 9:42 actually means 6/24? June 24th for release date?

Odd, when I signed up, via Apples link, for the iPhone notification mails, I was sent to a Cingular page, and should be getting notification from Cingular/ATT about when the iPhone will be available.
What have I done different from you lot? I am already a Cingular customer, was there a different link from Apples iPhone page for that? I am fairly certain I linked for iPhone signup from Apple.com, because Apple was the only site that had in depth info at all on the iPhone.

wayne: ya, it's 9:41 on older pictures, 9:42 now. Also note that it says "Monday, March 12" instead of "Tuesday, January 9"... is it a sign? probably not, but why changing it anyway?

Mr. Lizard, thats a damn lie that you can't find a phone with less than 3 megapixels. I do agree with you though, I would have expected Apple to exceed the standard and have a 3 or even 4 megapixel camera.
