There will be no iPhone presales

Here's some bad news for all you early adopter types who simply MUST have an iPhone on release day. Even though Apple has stated that there will be enough to go around, we still think things will be kind of tight initially. Good think you can pre-order a phone, right?

Wrong. Website The Boy Genius Report claims to have obtained an internal AT&T document which states,

"Sales for the iPhone will be on a first come, first served basis. No wait list of names will be taken and NO pre-selling is allowed."

Oh, well. The document doesn't specify a release date, other than to say "...some time in June," but it does say that the iPhone features "...advanced software 5 years ahead of any phone." That's it, AT&T, drink that Kool-Aid.

Well hmm, I wonder if the list I signed up on back in February in the Cingular Store was bogus.

There's also a line in quotes that says "Your Music, Your Way" that seems to elude to being able to get music via the phone instead of having to use a computer to purchase it before transferring.

Well, if there'll be no pre-sales, I wish they'd give us a release date soon so I can take the day off work and get in line. Hrmph!
