iPod owners want iPhones
In a completely unsurprising survey, employed adult mobile-phone users who already own iPods are the most likely demographic to consider purchasing an iPhone. Cellular News reports that 20% of those adults surveyed would consider purchasing an iPhone. That number rose to nearly 50% when iPod owners were questioned.
On the whole, Nokia emerged as the clear leader among the "next purchase" crowd. Also, more than half of the European consumers surveyed expressed an interest in mobile TV, particularly for sports matches and reality shows. Consumers requested both a watch-able form factor, which the iPhone looks ready to deliver, and long battery life, which is still unknown as far as the iPhone is concerned.

No...I'm pretty sure I'm with ya on that one. However, Apple won't do that, it would give the iPhone competition from it's own company...which isn't good. So, I've made the decision to just by the iPhone anyways...o well.

Yep. I'm hanging out for one too. My 4th Gen has been on its last legs for a while now. It's still lovely and gets about 13 hours of battery life [yes, it's the original battery] but I'm fairly certain the hard drive has been dying for about a year [sometimes i just have to hit it on the side to get it going again].
I have the cash put away, plus extra for a new case, and am just waiting for Apple to pull up the curtain.

This is a bit off topic, but a concern. I have been putting off getting a smart phone because I want something that will easily sync with my ical calendar and address book. With less than 30 days until its introduction, Is there any evidence out there that iPhone will sync with my Mac on June 11th? Or will we have to wait until Leopard is released?

I think the reason the iphone's memory is so small is because after the iphone has been out for a month or two they'll announce the new ipod which is almost identical to the iphone except with no net or phone functionality. It will have 120GB of memory.

No, not really, I have owned 2 ipods (2nd gen and 4th gen) and all I really want is a 6th gen ipod, NO PHONE, just an ipod with widescreen and video capabilities...I think my RAZR is a good enough phone...and WAY cheaper. Give me the iphone minus the phone!

#4 -- Bryan, iCal and Address Book sync are announced features of the iPhone. You won't have to wait for Leopard. (Not to mention that the iPhone will sync with iTunes on Windows, and to PIM apps on that side as well.)

Give me an iPhone minus the phone but with Wifi and Skype!
Oh yes, a replaceable battery would be great.
Now that would be a killer gadget. But I am sure it will never happen. Oh well. I can dream.
P.S. I could live with an iPhone if it had Skype, a replaceable battery and NO cell phone contract. (I would just use Skype ).
But how can anyone justify an expensive phone which only lasts a few hours that has NO replaceable battery. You can't unless you are not using the iPhone as a phone.

Nice to see I'm not alone.
I have two cell phones currently. One for web, the other for voice. I have my 5g iPod, too. Steve can keep his iPhone and just give me a widescreen, 100+ gig 6g iPod (preferably with bluetooth and audio/video recording, but I'll settle for the widescreen and the larger storage space).
