Could this possibly be the first video taken by an iPhone? Over at iPhone Matters, Gregory Ng posts that he received a copy of this video from an Apple Store employee in California. In the video, you can see what appears to be an iPhone appearing on the iMac screen as recorded by its iSight. The video is not the highest quality and Ng writes that the sender compressed the video before sending it over email. What do you think? Real or hoax?

Fake. The camera phone (probably Sony phone or something) is inside one of those paper mockups.

So fake. We all know iSights record frames mirroed (flipped) and the apple logo on that phone, and the position of the camera isn't reversed. The "Dude, what are you doing?" is completely different audio than the rest. Furthermore....who the hell would hold an iPhone like that?

Just pause at -4 seconds to the end. The screen shows the iPhone parallel lined up with the screen borders, but at the very same time the video he takes with the camera that he holds in his hand is angled significantly.
Fake.

Why on EARTH would an Apple Store employee be the first to leak a video? We all know they don't find anything out until the last minute. That's why they can never tell customers anything...because they DON'T KNOW! That's Apple's way of maintaining secrecy. And that's in addition to all the other technical reasons listed by other commenters above me why it's a fake.

Like David said: retail employees don't get their hands on a new product until the day it launches (perhaps the night before to set up). I used to work at one of the stores.

I think this one may be real. I'm pretty sure that is the Mac store on University Ave. here in Palo Alto. I cruised by there last night after dinner while they were closed. They had some guys in suits and regular looking employees (black t's) inside. They were all huddled around in the back with a bunch of camera equipment, tons of extra photog. lights and even a boom mic. They were all huddled around, so I couldn't see much, but I wouldn't be surprised. Maybe they were shooting a training video about the phone or something...pure speculation.

it may be the iphone, but lets hope not- it obviously lacks stabilization and a good director, i'm looking forward to see the real deal.

This is fake, the video on the computer doesn't match-up with the camcorder.

Fake...looks like the guy edited the video, using an iPod as the phone...and then had a voiceover added also at the end for "What are you doing." That's a pretty crappy fake also.

If you look at the iphone, (the pictures on apple's own site) there's a LENS on the freggin' thing. The perspective of where the cameras LENS should be, from what is being shot doesn't match up.

@Zizz:
Trust me, if the employees of Apple Store Palo Alto had an iPhone in the store (which I guarantee you they didn't), there would have been enourmous black tarps covering the entirety of the front windows. If you saw people huddled around with photography equipment at that particular store, odds are they were either doing general training stuff, or something similar. They do a lot of that there.
And speaking as a recently-quit employee of that location, the store in the video is not Palo Alto. The layout is entirely different.
BTW, the "what are you doing?" audio is quite possibly the worst idea anyone has ever had. If it weren't for that, I might have had to give this video a little credence. But no. It's crap.

I worked for the Apple Store for 2 years until just recently. Mac Specialists know NOTHING. I received advance knowledge on very few products over the years. There have been only two products I can remember having much advance knowledge on, The Mighty Mouse and the recent split of Procare, neither of which are quite iphone newsworthy.
