We here at TUAW are big The Joy of Tech fans--and we found this particular cartoon especially inspiring. So inspiring, that we created a new unspun poll for you to take part in and let us know the deepest darkest secret things you would do in order to get an iPhone of your own. Sure, most of you already have a cell phone. So do we. What you don't have yet is...an excuse.

I'd wait.

Do I want one? hell yeah. Do I want one of the first ones? Not so much. And it's not anything to do with a 1.0 product (I've for a v 1.0 MBP...two fans later, it's a great laptop) I'd just as soon wait a year, not deal with the supply chain issues, and get 12 Gig for my $600.

Mark my words, you're looking at the next Wii...and you STILL can't get a Wii on demand.

the iPhone had me by the short hairs when it went from rumor to reality, but now that I've had half a year to let the idea of it rattle around in my head, i've decided to wait as well.

gps would be nice, as well as 3G. i'm still holding out for some hidden features that may have been developed since it's first preview, but nothing that would make me buy it immediately. ESPECIALLY not with Cingular/AT&T.

for now, i've got a motorola q that pisses me off in the way that these small little gadgets tend to. i expect the iPhone would be roughly the same, but just prettier. and it would stroke my fan-boy ego.

Well, assuming I needed one, what I'd do is this: I'd buy it and write it off on my taxes as the legitimate business expense it would be. Because I won't buy one unless I need it, and I don't need it.

I'd pay.. maybe $250, as long as I could use it with my current carrier and not have to make a two year commitment to AT&T/Cingular.

It excites me about as much as the iTube aka AppleTV.

My contract with VZW will be up a month after it's release. Gives me a chance to see if VZ comes out with the "iPhone Killer" (hopefully the Prada) or if I want to go for the iPhone or just get the Blackberry Curve and wait for iPhone v2.

I'd vote, but that weird voting thingy never gets past the point where the button changes to "Processing…". I suggest killing that junk and using something else.

all of the above. shux #1 cant be too bad for one night, you're likely to get some action. a week w/ her probably torcher.

Tip of the Day

Holding the Command key (aka the Apple key) and pressing Tab will cycle through your open applications. It's easier to Cmd-Tab if you are Copy (Cmd-C) and Pasting (Cmd-V) to and from various applications.
