Cha-Ching 1.0.3 released with better performance, searching and download support
Cha-Ching, the streamlined money manager that aims to put the fun back finances, has made a minor update to v1.0.3 with some truly useful new features and fixes. At the top of the list is a database migration to Mac OS X's built-in SQLite to boost performance, as well as search enhancements for using multiple tags and searching both To and From fields, but that's not all. Included in the update are:
- OFX and QFX support added
- Can now sort transactions in Print Panel
- Printing now uses already filtered list of transactions
- Source pane can now be expanded much more
The update can be had either by running Cha-Ching (chose Check for Updates from the app menu if it doesn't check automatically), or by heading over to the Midnight Apps site.

When I updated, I lost all my transaction photos. According to Matthew, they've fixed it, but just something to look for.
Other than that, the update fixes most the stuff that was bugging me (Autofill madness).

This program sucks. I paid for it, but it makes easy things confusing with its "beautiful interface." Much easier to just revert back to my neooffice spreadsheet...

It not being able to automatically sync to a bank website and download the data like MS Money or Quicken is a dealbreaker for me. Nice looking Application though.

Well, excited about the new features I plunged into this update. I used the built in updater, and once the program relaunched (which took a very long time on my MacBook C2D 2Ghz) I just got a big, blank screen with window control buttons. Completely hosed me.

I think is the worst application I've ever dealt with. Quicken has been clunky but has worked for me for a long time. The import QIF used to work but most fields would end up being blank. This prevented me from giving up Quicken. Now with this update, import QIF causes the application to crash. So much for supporting upcoming apps on the Mac Platform.

I've used this program since 0.1 and it's only gotten better. I've used QIF importing numerous times, and it's worked just like it should for me. I would like an option for auto-syncing to a bank website.

Sorry, this program blows. Until it can natively connect to my frakkin bank and download the statements, it is trash.

This is a terrible, buggy program. It's missing a number of very basic features. Need a running total alongside your transactions? Doesn't have it. Need to split a transaction between two or more expense categories? You're out of luck.
And to top it all off, it crashes constantly. I can't believe I paid $40 for this piece of crap. I will now know better than to respond to bloggers' posts about something they know nothing about (other than "it's pretty")
By the way, notice the developers keep their user forums locked out unless you register to view them -- that way you won't see the numerous omissions and serious bugs.
