Ad: New York loves the iPhone
And forgive me if I'm reading a little too much into this, but how cool is all of this? It's 2007, and we're going to be walking around carrying little multitouch screens with "no buttons." Say what you will about the whole "Sweet Solution" fiasco, but dude-- we're living the future.

i liked this. and i agree, the future is now!
i don't know which is worse -- the wait for the iphone, or the ever-increasing blather of the steve jobs/apple/mac/iphone haters, though!

Dude, I totally agree. This is an amazing time to be alive.
BTW -- does anyone else think the iPhone is the next step closer to the Knowledge Navigator videos Apple did in the 80s?
The whole thing about flipping through the album covers in iTunes, and now with your finger on iPhone totally reminds me of that. It's like Apple is slowly but surely moving in that direction.
Think about it. We're not too far away from a device like that which was dreamed about in KN being a reality.
Voice recognition ... check.
On board camera ... check.
OCR ... check.
Text to speech ... check.
Natural hand-based UI ... check.
Search for almost any info you could ever want (google) ... check.
IP Phone ... check.
A.I. Assistants for everything from info access to communications (widgets) ... check.
And to think - Apple got blasted for those videos.....
Cheers,

"Chris M" - It's not that it hasn't been done before, it's that it's finally being done RIGHT! With other mobile devices, it wasn't that the pig could sing well it was that the pig could sing at all. Now Apple makes a pig that can really carry a tune. and that's cool!
BTW the comercial is GREAT. It's all about communication. Although we may speak different languages we're all talking about the same thing.

Hate to be picky, but hasn't it got one button, beneath the screen?

Regarding Post #11:
Well, apparently, there's two kinds of people in the world*: trolls and fanboys.
(*or at least, in this thread.)
Personally, the iPhone sounds interesting (except for the the price tag), but I am a little disturbed at seeing quite this much drooling going on over a product that people don't even have in their hands yet.
