Apple posts iPhone welcome video

The teasing and tantalizing continues unabated for the iPhone faithful, as it undoubtedly will for the next 174 hours or so. The latest document of longing is Apple's newly posted Guided Tour video, available in small, medium, large and a 178MB downloadable version (your mileage may vary with the standalone file; my download choked off at 50 MB and resulted in an unsurprisingly unplayable QT file).
Enjoy the moment.
Thanks to Peter and Josh for the tip

They updated the whole of the iPhone page, which now more closely resembles the other sections of the site. I honestly can't remember another time Apple has updated their website so frequently. This is the 3rd version of the iPhone site in a week.
They also updated the gallery so Macy Gray is replaced with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and added a 360° QTVR

To elaborate, last Friday the site had the option to view the videos in front or 3/4 view, this Monday they updated all the videos to be 3/4 and added the gallery and additional videos, and now they redid the iPhone home page and added a couple more things. Busy bees...

Am I seeing things or does this guy have really large hands... in an attempt to make the iPhone look smaller?

The battery question is now answered. Did anybody else notice the SIM tray on top. That pretty much tells you there's not a way to get into it.

Nice. The site now clearly says you can buy iPhone online:
"Buy online. Browse, shop and buy your iPhone online. Coming soon."
Maybe there won't be a lot of standing in line now....

So on June 29, I take it the site will change again, with the new horizontal scroll for the iPhone itself and the accessories!

Honestly for all the flack Steve and his team have been getting about calling this a "revolutionary" phone is ridiculous. This video really outlines how unbelievably well done the software and hardware on the phone is done. Everything truly comes together in the right way. Time will tell if everything is really so candy coated and perfect once people really get their hands on it. But the features in this phone are truly amazing

@ mentalsticks?
Most people think the iPhone is big, it's actually not. Print this out, then cut and fold. It's a fairly small device. http://www.iphonecountdown.com/iphone_readymech.pdf

Wow... that video isn't a "guide", it's an instruction manual. It does answer most of the questions I'm sure people have about the iPhone...
But did I miss something, or is there not a way to use iTunes music as Ringtones? I kind of phased out during the iPod part of the video, but didn't see anything in the Settings part, either.

The one feature that Apple hasn't said much about is the camera. In no demo have we seen how the software works, if there will be video capture, etc. I wonder if that's the last thing that was finishing in prepping the software, or if there's some surprise coming there (or is it so unremarkable that they're purposely leaving it off?).

Anyone notice that Apple is now referring to backgrounds as "Wallpaper"? Also, I find it strange that the zoom-in/zoon-out controls are different in Google Maps than in every other application on iPhone.

@13 I agree ... the big news from this video is it doesnt look like you can use iTunes songs as ringtones. We have all been assuming that, but I wonder if revenue stream negotations between record labels, at&t, apple, etc ... and that is not going to be an option. Probably going to have to pay again to use a song as a ringtone. Perhaps there will be a ringtone option on the iTunes Store?

After seeing this video I finally want one. I was holding back because of the cost, but after seeing this video it truly does look like the best phone I've ever seen. Depending on the AT&T monthly plans I just might have to get one! I think Dan (#11) said it best.

Thinks i was hoping for that we didn't see:
- iTunes music for ringtones
- No camera demo
- No dialpad/keypad for SMS (I thumb text a lot without looking at the screen)
However as soon as this is in the UK it's mine Mwahaha!! (Any news on a date for the UK yet?)

Hmm.. maybe you can't use itunes store mp3s as ringtones, but surely you'd be able to use ripped mp3s?
I'd be pissed if my shitty nokia can play mp3s as a ringtone and my iPhone couldn't..

@ 13 & 16: There not only doesn't seem to be a way to use MP3s as ringtones, there doesn't appear to be a way to add *any* other sound as a ringtone, aside from Apple's presets -- at least not on the phone itself. Perhaps this will be handled through iTunes on the computer side?
I gotta say, this is a major step back -- my Sony Ericsson will play any MP3 as a ringtone, and it's one of my favorite things about it. How odd that a phone that has music woven through its DNA doesn't appear to do this.
