Internal AT&T iPhone Policies

Deep-cover TUAW operative "iPhonePhan" has uncovered an internal AT&T memo laying out some of the basic policies for the upcoming iPhone. Here's TUAW's summary of the points in this memo.
Next Friday is iDay. And AT&T is "iReady" [sic]. Employees will receive daily iReady updates as iDay approaches. Sign up for SMS iPhone updates here.
Launch logistics. The iPhone goes on sale at 6PM local time in each market on Friday June 29th. It will be sold at AT&T-owned stores, Apple stores, and online at Apple.com.
Ordering, pricing, models: No preorders. First come, first served. $499 for 4GB and $599 for 8GB models. Rate plans are yet to be shared.
No employee special rates. No employee discounts and no concession on rate plans for employees at all levels. Employees must buy the phone at the consumer price and use a regular, undiscounted, consumer-rate plan.
ERIC and JustAsk. These employee referral programs will not offer credit for iPhone handset referrals but employees will earn points for the associated calling plans. Details to follow at launch.
Thank you iPhonePhan!

No discounts for AT&T employees I could potentially see... but no discounts for Apple employees? Does anybody know about that yet?... I assume since this is just an AT&T memo it only is in regards to them, but I'm not sure.
Also, why are all the blogs posting that AT&T stores are going have them... Apple Stores will have them too, and likely in much, MUCH larger numbers... ;)
... a little bird told me that =)

The iPhone has one huge flaw which will make it suck. It would have been fine if Apple was using Cingular, but now that Cingular has gone back home to Mama Bell all I see is gloom and doom for an otherwise fantastic device. I worked in the bowels in AT&T and I can tell you they do not share the Apple culture.
But don't just take my word for it:

I would have maybe bought an iPhone if it was with Cingular, but I will definitly not buy one with service from AT&T. I think AT&T is trying to become more hip. Well, you ever see a cheesy 63 year old thinking he is "rad"? That is all that is going to happen.

I understand why there are no discounts on the unit itself, but not discounting the rate is just stupid. Way to go, AT&T.
Actually, who can blame them? With fanboys lining up to sell out all of their stock, consumers have tossed away all of their power. Imagine how fast the rates would change if nobody showed up for the product launch. Fantasy, I know.
