For those of us not in the US, the constant "omg who is camping out for an iPhone" and "LA Apple store offers free jellybeans to everyone who buys an iPhone" threads are just plain annoying.

In Australia we don't even have a proposed release date for the phone AND as it stands it is technologically waaaay behind the phones we have here (3G is standard for all phones in this price point). To constantly have to read all the rubbish about US-specific iPhone stuff is a pain in the bum. But, having said that, I won't be subscribing to the iPhone-free feed - I won't begrudge anyone who does, though.

Just as RM and Able-X said, I'd like to read about the iPhone although I won't get one, but there's an unsettling stream of no-news in separate posts that always leaves me with the "huh? is that all? and you had to make a separate post for that?" If you do take the iphoneless feed you'll see how limited reporting is for Apple related stuff other than iphone. I'd rather Apple focused more on computers and get on with Leopard as I feel they're slowly moving away from my G5 into areas that they're not fit to tackle.

It's a damn phone, it's not the cure for cancer and by the end of next week we'll all be wondering what all that was all about. The ipod is its 5 gen but I don't see a better world for mankind, just portable music. It has been absorbed into everyday life and so will iphone do as by Xmas all cell manufacturers will have new models with better features and fanboi lemmings will get stuck with a 2 year plan + yet another soap bar.

But if I subscribe to this feed, how am I going to know what to complain about?

Oh, and if you don't think TUAW is lucky to have Sadun, you need your head examined.

Fair enough for Engadget to offer a way for their readers to avoid the landslide of iPhone news, but why should TUAW? I mean you guys are 'The Unofficial Apple Weblog'.

The iPhone is so unbelievably important to Apple, it being a device to compete in a new market for them. An avalanche of iPhone related news isn't something that particularly would last forever. We've been waiting for this for the past six months and coming close to launch of course they'll be a lot of news about it.

So TUAW readers, if you don't like the iPhone news, then just skip over it. Why does TUAW have to partition their content just because some Apple news annoys you.

thank you! I am sick to death of the freakin' iPhone. It won't even work in an enterprise environment due not being exchange compatible, and that alone takes away pretty much all care about it from me. Plus, the madness is just too much....ITS A PHONE. Looking forward to more Leopard news though ;)

I actually stopped reading TUAW for a while before the iPhone came out because of all the senseless speculation and utter crap that was appearing here about it.

Now that it's an actual product, I don't mind seeing it. I don't read the stories, but their existence doesn't irritate the root of my being.

I think what most people have an issue with isn't the iPhone itself, but the dozens of nonsense stories about it. Crowd control devices for lines, like 4-5 different stories about the big iPhone displays. There is some good legitimate news, but it's almost completely coming from Apple, the rest is just rehashing the same stuff over and over, nothing more than speculation.
