iPhones on the ground!
The iPhones are on the ground! According to AppleInsider the first shipments of iPhones have arrived from Asia and are under armed guard pending their release on Friday. They note dryly that such guards are normally reserved for diamonds, gold, and such. Apparently Apple is also going so far as to ban cellphones and notebooks with built-in iSights from their back storerooms so as to prevent pictures from leaking out. This is crazy; the next thing you know they'll be shutting down traffic to transport them! The funny thing, though, is that these precautions probably are reasonable.

Am I the only geek here that remembers Magic: the Gathering cards being shipped around in armored cars under armed guard during the height of their popularity?

hey what if you're a Genius working on an intel/g5 iMac/MB/MBP ? can't you just use that iSight? I wonder how many store managers are going to follow that order.
