Apple has sold many, many iPhones in the past few days, and you know what that means! Lots of phones that were, up until last Friday, perfectly capable have been tossed aside for a new love (a touchable love at that). This leaves us with one question: what the heck do you do with that old phone? Luckily, exPhone is here to help you out. This site lists all sorts of ways you can recycle your old phone, so as not to get Greenpeace angry (and Earth is the only planet we have... for now). Not only does exPhone lists ways for you to recycle your phone, it also shows you how to donate your phone to charities (as long as it is still in working order, that is).

I just gave my old Moto e815 to my brother in law. Of course now I don't know what we'll do with HIS old phone.

Keep that old phone as a backup for when you go to the lake, etc. Just switch out the SIM card and you should be fine. There will be times when you don't want to worry about ruining your iPhone and the old phone will fix that.

If your previous phone is a GSM phone, take the SIM out, get it unlocked, and put it on eBay. There are plenty of people out there that need a phone but don't want to end up in another 2 year contract on T-Mobile or Cingular. Phones move pretty well on eBay, especially Smartphones, Blackberries, and Treos.

If its a GSM phone..keep it for when you have to send your iPhone in to get its battery replaced-just switch out the SIM.

Get off the Greenpeace kick. They take on causes that most of us are too busy playing with our toys to notice, and that really do matter, both short and long term.
Your flippant attitude is not welcome. They have lost lives doing their work, contrasted with those who you wouldn't dare criticize, those who take lives for a living.

If you had AT&T before, save your old phone for when you have to send in your iPhone to get its battery replaced. You should be able to just swap the SIM card and use it.

Just got off the phone with Tmobile paying my final bill before switching and the rep said "thank you for being a GOLD MEMBER since 2004" I told him I was switching to AT&T for the iPhone and he said "Wait... have you seen our new WING, it's way better than the iPhone!" After laughing loudly into the phone I said no thanks and hung up.
Has anyone heard of or used the WING?

db; the problem is that Greenpeace is currently an attention whore company. They are also mildly eco-terrorist too. I am fine with environmentalism and environmentalist watchdogs, but I don't appreciate their sensationalist tactics. Frankly, they give being green a bad name.

Dear db and JeffDM, I think you could read the Greenpeace article about the iPhone before judging them:
